Contacts - Voice Commands
Contacts - Voice Commands
The Virtual Assistant gives you access to your contacts and your colleagues (if you are part of a company account) to call them, send them voice emails and text messages, or simply get their contact information such as their address, title and company name using speech commands over the phone.
If you are using a company account, you will automatically get access to your company's employee directory. You may also access the company's shared contacts (suppliers, consultants, etc. ) with the permission of your company account administrator.
The number of contacts that you can access by phone using voice commands is limited (the default maximum is usually 500). Contact your customer service or your company account administrator if you need to access more contacts. Your voice directory should include the contacts that you most often communicate with by phone or email. Not all contacts meet this criteria. A smaller number of contacts in your voice directory results in better name recognition.
Note that you can also access your contacts to call them, text them and view their details on the Web Portal and Mobile App. The more complex contact management functions such as viewing contact call logs, importing and exporting contacts, and syncing contacts with CRM systems can only be accessed on the Web Portal. See Contact Management on Web Portal for details.
The following options are available at the main menu level immediately after login:
- Call contacts
- Dial a number
- Send voice messages and emails to contacts
- Synchronize contacts
- Access contact information

Enter contact names using the keypad
Most telephone keypads have letters on their keys. To enter a contact name using the keypad, spell the last and first name of the contact by pressing the keys corresponding to the letters to enter. You don't have to enter the full last name and first name. Enter sufficient letters for the Virtual Assistant to find a match in your contacts.
For example, to spell "John Doe" you would press the following keys: 5646363.
1 | 2 abc |
3 def |
4 ghi |
5 jkl |
6 mno |
7 pqrs |

Follow these guidelines when spelling contact names on the keypad:
- Do not enter any special characters such as the space between the last and first name or dashes (-) in composed names.
- Do not enter any middle name or initial.
- Use English-equivalents to any foreign language letters. For example, use E for é.
